Moonchild is Aleister Crowley’s best-known novel, an occult fantasy centred on rival magical factions competing over a ritual intended to incarnate a lunar spirit in human form. Originally published in 1929, the novel draws heavily on Crowley’s own magical world, including ritual practice, Thelemic ideas and satirical portraits of figures from the Western occult scene.
This 1972 Sphere Books edition is especially appealing to collectors of Crowley, Thelema and vintage occult paperbacks. It includes the text associated with John Symonds and Kenneth Grant’s edition and remains one of the more recognisable mass-market editions of Crowley’s fiction.
