Keris and Other Malay Weapons is Gerald B. Gardner’s study of Malay weaponry, with particular attention to the keris, or kris: a distinctive Southeast Asian blade associated with both practical use and magical or spiritual belief. The book covers the description and classification of Malay weapons while also exploring the keris’s connection to folklore, superstition, occult belief and ritual culture.

This is an interesting crossover title for readers of Southeast Asian history, weapon studies, folk magic, material culture and Gardner’s wider occult legacy. Gardner is best known as a foundational figure in modern Wicca, but this earlier work reflects his long-standing interest in magic, belief and traditional cultures.
