Mother Shipton’s Prophecies brings together the earliest published editions of the famous Yorkshire seer’s prophecies from 1641, 1684 and 1686, along with The Story of Knaresborough by Arthur Mee. The book presents Mother Shipton as both a legendary witch and prophetess, tracing her connection to Knaresborough and the long folklore tradition that grew around her name.

Born Ursula Sontheil, Mother Shipton became one of England’s best-known prophetic figures, associated with predictions of major historical events and with the cave and petrifying well at Knaresborough. This edition is a compact reprint of early material, useful for readers interested in British folklore, witch legends, prophecy, local history and the development of popular occult myth.

About the Author:
