Spagyrics is a detailed practical and historical guide to the alchemical preparation of medicinal essences, tinctures and elixirs from plants. Manfred M. Junius explains methods intended to separate, purify and recombine plant constituents within the Western spagyric tradition.

The book discusses the philosophy and symbolism of plant alchemy alongside working methods associated with Paracelsus, Andreas Libavius and later Hermetic practice. It also connects spagyrics with herbal medicine, classical alchemy and Ayurvedic traditions.

About the Author: Manfred M. Junius (1929–2004) was a biologist and practitioner of spagyrics who worked with Australerba Laboratories in Australia and led the Australian School of Ayurveda in Adelaide.
