The Book of the Sacred Magic of Abramelin the Mage is one of the foundational texts of Western ceremonial magic and one of the most influential grimoires of the modern occult revival. Based on a fifteenth-century manuscript, the work details the magical system attributed to Abramelin, transmitted through the figure of Abraham of Würzburg.

The text became especially famous through its influence on Aleister Crowley and the wider Hermetic tradition. Its central operation — the “Knowledge and Conversation of the Holy Guardian Angel” — has become one of the defining spiritual aims in modern ceremonial magic.

The book combines devotional practice, purification rituals, invocations, magical squares, spirit operations, and instructions for attaining spiritual authority and magical power. Unlike many grimoires focused purely on summoning spirits, Abramelin presents a lengthy initiatory system intended to transform the practitioner through discipline, prayer, and isolation.

This edition features the classic translation by S. L. MacGregor Mathers, whose work helped shape twentieth-century occultism through the Hermetic Order of the Golden Dawn.
